Dog boarding kennels

Dog boarding kennels and cattery in Mickleover, Derby

We are a family-run business, which prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and high standards. We work hard to ensure that all pets receive a high standard of care and enjoy their stay with us.
• We are open 365 days per year for visiting guests

• We are a fully licensed kennels and cattery which can accommodate 65 dogs and 30 cats. This means we are visited annually by the local authority and we welcome owners to call to inspect our premises - no appointment necessary during opening hours

• The full time staff are qualified in animal care - qualifications are on display

• The kennels have both inside and outside areas with individual heat lamps over a raised bedding pallet, the whole cattery is heated during colder weather

• There are three large exercise paddocks where dogs can run free, individually or in family groups at least three times daily

• We offer short and long term bookings (even one day) and there is a collection and delivery service available for an extra charge, depending on the distance

• Our client base covers a wide area of Derby City, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire and we are very proud of the fact that many customers come from personal referrals and continue to use our service for many years

All tomcats MUST be neutered.

A deposit of £40 will be required for each 7 days booked. This needs to be paid within seven days of making your reservation. If you have to cancel we will carry your deposit over until your next visit but no refunds can be made.

We can provide this service for an extra charge depending on the distance and time required. Please ask for further details.

We require all dogs to have had the kennel cough vaccine. This is NOT usually included in your dog’s annual boosters. If you are unsure, contact your vet for details.

Dogs are individually exercised off the lead three times daily in our enclosed paddocks. Dogs kennelled together will be exercised together.
Flea control in animals

Please check your pet before coming into kennels, and ensure they are clear.

Payment needs to be made by cheque or cash, not credit card when you bring your pet in. If you return early refunds will not be made.

We have an independent dog groomer working here and she can bath or trim your dog before it goes home. Please ask for details to make an appointment with her.

All our kennels have both indoor and outdoor areas. In addition to standard regulation size kennels we have larger pens for two or more dogs (these also house the giant breeds). We try to keep one block for larger dogs and one for smaller breeds; in addition we do have some quiet kennels for elderly or nervous dogs. All kennels will be heated overnight at colder times of the year (all day heating can be provided at an extra charge).

We stock a wide range of foods and will feed your pet the same food it is fed at home. If your pet is on a special diet that we do not stock, owners are asked to supply the food themselves and we will reduce the fee by 50p per day.
Dog medication

We can and will administer medication and injections. Please bring medication clearly named and with written instructions. Should your pet require any out of hour’s medication or injections an extra fee will be charged.

If you wish to bring your pet’s own bed/bedding and toys you can but we have plenty available. We cannot take responsibility for any lost or damaged items and we are unable to wash large dog beds and bedding. Bedding does get soiled as dogs go to and from the paddocks in bad weather, please bear this in mind should you bring your own into the kennels. Bean-bag beds are not allowed.

All dogs and cats must be fully vaccinated. Please remember to bring your record card with you, as animals cannot be admitted without proof that vaccinations are up to date. The card remains on the premises whilst the animal is in our care.

We have an indoor cattery. All pens are large enough to take two cats but we do have some pens that can take three. During colder periods the whole cattery is heated.
